Hi I'm Alexa Brown

I was born in Arizona and raised in California. I'm a softball player, musician, singer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior in high school. I love music. I like to sing and play guitar. I also play the drums. I love to perform. I used to play softball for my high school team. I am a catcher.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God lives. I know this because I have seen His hand helping me through my life. I come from a broken home. My parents got divorced when I was in middle school. During the first year and a half of the divorce my brothers and I would go back and forth between houses. My dad is an active member of the church, but my mom is not. My dad started dating while my mom remained bitter about the divorce. My mother was a drug addict and she became abusive after her and my dad split. When my brothers and I would stay at her house, she had a very short fuse and anything could set it off. If it did happen to get set off, she would become a different person. She would throw things and try to hit me. Things just weren't going right... At this time I had not been actively participating in the church (Reading scriptures or praying). My aunt, who is a member, could see I was struggling with somethings. She convinced me to read my scriptures and pray. I took her advice and read my scriptures and prayed for the first time in years. The day after, the entire situation with my mom changed. She got arrested for child abuse and my brothers and I now live safely with my dad. Later on I stumbled across a scripture (Mosiah 7:33) that said if you do His will, He will deliver you out of bondage. I did, and He literally delivered my brothers and I. I'd like to bear my testimony that I know this church is true. There isn't a doubt in my mind. I have seen God's hand in my life. I know that Christ lives. I know he atoned for our sins. He has suffered all. If you ever feel you are alone, you aren't. He suffered all of our pains and sorrows. You are never alone. There is always someone there for you who knows what you are going through. I used to feel as though I was alone, but through this church I have found that I am not. We don't have to go through this life alone. Again, I know this church is true and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I help to plan fun activities and dances for the youth of the church. I also attend seminary every morning. I have almost perfect attendance! I love getting up early in the morning to learn more about the scriptures. I perform solos in Sacrament meeting on Sundays too!
