Hi I'm Tiffany

I am an elementary school teacher. I love to learn, travel, and meet new people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I teach 3rd grade at a school in Utah. I spend a lot of time working with students who do not receive much home support. This requires extra hours of preparation, but it also makes my job feel meaningful. When I'm not at work I spend time with my family and friends...talking, watching movies, playing games, and serving in the community. I enjoy exercising and eating healthy. Some of my favorite activities include mountain biking, knee-boarding, hiking, jogging, and weight lifting.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the gospel is true! I prayed long and hard about whether this was the right church to join. I was raised in an active family of the LDS church. However, I still wanted to know for myself if what I was taught was true. For years I studied the scriptures, fasted, and prayed for answers. As I attended church and lived the gospel I felt good about life. One night I prayed especially hard to know if this was His true church. It was like light dawned on me and I knew without a doubt that God was real. Other little experiences across the years confirmed my faith and my answer that this church is true. Now I continue to live His gospel and share it with others because I want everyone to know what I finally know. That this is the true church! It brings me immense happiness and strength. I want everyone to have the same strength & happiness in their life that I have in mine.

How I live my faith

This summer I am going to Peru to do humanitarian service. I am very excited to go and help people there! I have so much, and this is one small way I can share my blessings. There are many others ways I live my faith too. Most of the time I do this by making friends with people. I like to visit people I live by and get to know them. I teach lessons to the women in my church and visit them in their homes. I also help organize activities and deliver birthday gifts to the woman in my ward. When possible, I play the organ and piano for our congregation and choir. I enjoy using my musical talents to serve others. Additionally, I have helped with local community clean-up projects and visited residents in nursing homes.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Ancient Americans prophets wrote the Book of Mormon. They passed their writings down from prophet to prophet, or sometimes father to son, and recorded God's dealings with their people. The prophet Mormon created an abridgment of the prior prophets teachings. This book was then translated by the prophet Joseph Smith in 1830 from its original language into modern day English.
