Hi I'm Hayden

I'm a missionary of Jesus Christ in Toronto. I sing in the shower, love music, and preach the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Idaho and Utah my entire life, and I like my home, and I love being able to be surrounded by others who share my ideals. I was born in Logan, UT to great parents who have raised me and my three younger brothers in a home with the Gospel. I've always enjoyed music and other arts. Ever since I was a young toddler standing on a piano bench singing "Oh What Farmer Had a Farm" in my rendition of the classic song about "Old McDonald Had a Farm," I've had love for performance. I play the piano, the trombone, and I sing. I also love to write, both music and literature. When I get free time, I like to sit down and write whatever comes to my head; it's like my release. I love the idea that in both mediums you can create an entire world of emotions all of your own imagination. As for the my new life now, I am a missionary for this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. For these next two years, I serve, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have been assigned to study and teach in a foreign language and teach people who have come from far parts of the world, and that is really opening my eyes. Being able to study other cultures and learn their languages has allowed me to greater appreciate how diverse (yet strangely similar) all of God's children are. AND I get to teach them about Jesus Christ as his representative. It's a pretty cool day job.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that nothing is more true than the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. It's really that simple. I've looked and I've prayed, and there is nothing else that makes more sense to me. Joseph Smith really was a prophet and this church is true. That being said, if it really is Christ's church, then why not be a member of it?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to live in such a way that I may well represent the name of Christ which I have taken upon myself. I live my faith in following the commandments and striving to do what is right. I live my faith in communicating with my Heavenly Father regularly. And I live my faith through trusting in Him despite the trials I that come. There have been challenges which were really hard for me, but they have enabled me to rely on Christ and my Father in Heaven more than a few times. With my trust in his comfort and guidance, I live my faith.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith Jr. was a boy who was raised in the rural areas of the Northeast United States. He grew to be a man of little formal education, but had a contemplative mind in personal matters. He cared deeply about truth, and wanted to be righteous, and thus spent a great deal of time reflecting on the religion which was closest to God. After becoming dismayed at the variety of denominations which all warred one against another, he chose to exercise faith in scripture and act on a verse from James in the New Testament, which we read on evening. The verse prompted him to ask God, and so he did, faith unwavering. He then received the "First Vision," a revelation of God and His son Jesus Christ together who told him that none were true, but that the gospel should be restored on the earth. Joseph Smith was a man of God, and a friend to all. He led small and persecuted church by his example and insightful teaching, through revelation from God, to learn of the true gospel and regain the authority of the priesthood. He is a man of honesty, integrity, and true diligence and faith in the Lord. He was foreordained for his work, and accomplished his mission on this earth with upright perseverance. Show more Show less
