Hi I'm Chuck Dow

I grew up in Maine and now live in Rochester New York. I work for Iberdrola USA in the IT department. I am a Morman

About Me

I have been married for 34 years to the most wonderful person. We have 3 great kids who so far have provided us with 3 grandchildren. I work as a network operator for a multi-national corporation. I love to spend my spare time with my family. I also love to learn new things. I am an avid reader. I love to do small projects around our home and enjoy the sense of accomplishment when I complete something new.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother joined the church when I was 3 years old. Through her example I had a very good foundation in the gospel, but there came a time in my teens that I needed to know for myself that the church was true. I picked up the Book of Mormon and started reading and praying about the gospel. When I was done with the Book of Mormon I read the other scripture's from cover to cover. 40 some odd years later I continue to read these books over and over. The scriptures are a living entity to me. Every time I read them they seem different to me or the Lord lets me see a different view. Any question that I have had throughout my life has been answered when I was reading the scriptures. All of life's challenges have been overcome by continuing to read and pray about the scriptures. I also am able to help others because of the knowledge reading the scriptures has given me. At this point in my life I do not just believe the church is true but I know it. Over the years I have received the answers that I needed and more. I have not always been perfect but by continuing to read the scriptures, pray and attend my meetings I have been blessed to not go far from that which I know to be true. I thank the lord every day for the gospel and what it has shaped me into. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that we have a Prophet on the earth today. My only hope and goal is that someday I will hear the words "Well done thou good and faithful servant"

How I live my faith

Growing up I was privileged to have a mother who not only believed in service to others but did it on a daily basis. This great example set me on that same path early in my life and has been the cornerstone of who I am. I love people, I love helping others, and hope and pray that I am there to help when needed. I believe in the responsibility that goes with being a member of the church, especially home teaching. I am currently serving as a counselor in the Bishopric and really love the aspect of knowing what is going on in our ward. It helps me to know the who, when and what of those that need help. At this time most of my home teaching families are inner city families who do not own transportation which provides me with plenty of opportunities to provide service. I really enjoy watching others change and grow in their faith.
