Hi I'm Joseph Harold Wight

I just graduated High School, I'm about to serve a mission, I love sports,friends,the Lord,my family,and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an eighteen year old young man serving a mission in Monterrey West, Mexico and absolutely loving it. I'm planning on attending college after that. I love and eat almost any food. Friends and family are a very important and essential part of my life. They are always there for me whenever I need them. I love them very much. I love watching and playing almost every sport there is. I've had my fair share of trials and through all of them I have grown closer to the Lord. I know he is always there for me. I also love to read the Book of Mormon. It has blessed my life and I have a very strong testimony of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were already members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I've never had a reason to leave the church. I have stayed a member of the church because it blesses my life in many ways and carries me through every day. I love this gospel and the opportunity we have to study the scriptures and learn how to return to our Heavenly Father. I'm so grateful for the Atonement in my life and the chance that it gives me to repent of any sin that I have committed to become clean again. I'm grateful for our Savior and Brother, Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful that he was willing to come down from Heaven and take on all of my sins and all of the sins of the world and be crucified so that all of us have the opportunity to repent and return to live with Him and Heavenly Father again someday after we leave this existence. I"m so grateful for my family and the examples they are to me about how to live the gospel and that they teach me how to be more Christlike and support me in all that I do. I'm grateful for missions. I'm grateful to be able to devote all that I have to the Lord for two years so that I can help other people come unto Christ. I'm grateful for temples and for the opportunity we have to go into the House of the Lord and preform those sacred ordinances that He has commanded us to. I'm so grateful for the Book of Mormon and the chance we have to study and learn from it. This truly is a great church!

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in such a way that others will see how happy i am and want to know more about why I am that way. I"m a home teacher that tries to his best to make sure that all those families that I teach know that if they have a problem that they can call me for help. I love to share my testimony of the Book of Mormon and the Gospel with others. I love to answer any questions they have about our church. I love going out and helping the missionaries spread the gospel.

What is the priesthood?

Joseph Harold Wight
The Priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. Jesus Christ ordained the twelve apostles to the Priesthood. That same Priesthood is on the Earth today and is given to every worthy male who is twelve years of age and older. There are two Priesthoods. The Aaronic Priesthood which is given to those ages 12-18 and also those males who join the church will in time be called to the Aaronic priesthood as long as they are worthy and older than 12. The Melchizedek Priesthood is given to worthy males ages 18 and older. Typically you receive this Priesthood just before you serve a mission. After you have been ordained to these priesthoods, you need to keep yourself worthy and exercise your Priesthood power and try to strengthen it. Show more Show less
