Hi I'm Dani

I grew up in Arizona, I'm a future educator, I love CrossFit, Yoga, Hiking and Biking and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 22 year old student currently living in Arizona. I'm going to school to be a first grade teacher and I LOVE working with kids! I also love to workout and eat healthy. Living an active healthy life style is very important to me. Some of my passions include sustainable organic gardening and singing. I was raised in a atheist family and I found God at a time when I thought I was already as happy as I could be. This gospel has changed my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am 22 years old and only been baptized since June 2013. I discovered this church at a time in my life when I thought I was already as happy as I could be. I first learned about the church in 2010, and at the time I had many misconceptions. Terms like "magic underwear", and "cult", crossed my mind briefly when I Discovered my Boyfriend was LDS. During the 3 years we dated, I never wanted to be apart of this church. I did everything I could to fight the feeling that this church was true. I NEVER prayed. Then one of my very close friends died. At his funeral I prayed for the first time. Heavenly Father ANSWERED my prayers - something I had thought was impossible. I asked him where my life was going and he told me I would be baptized and married in the Temple. I could not believe it! I had been denying God and Jesus Christ for 3 years, and they still LOVED me and had FAITH in me. After I received these answers I began meeting with Missionaries. Once I began taking the lessons and praying, I received answer after answer from Heavenly Father - This Gospel is true. Once I committed to being baptized, I felt happiness like I had never felt before. I had a new perspective on life. I had purpose and direction. I had a relationship with my Heavenly Father. I prayed to him every day, and I spoke to Him knowing He heard me. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are real. They love us, have faith in us and listen to our prayers.

How I live my faith

I was just baptized June 2013!! One of the happiest days of my life! One thing I learned while taking lessons with the missionaries, is that I LOVED to read the scriptures - something I never thought I would enjoy. At first they seemed so boring, but then I realized they are FULL of wisdom, guidance, advice and truly bring us closer to our Heavenly Father. I try to study the scriptures every morning and night! I also attend church every Sunday. When I first began learning about this faith, I thought to myself " Wow - 3 hours at church is a LONG time." But I have since found out that those 3 hours truly fly by - and sometimes I wish I could have more! At church we hear beautiful messages from our peers. I always feel touched by heavenly father when I leave the chapel!

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Dani
I was recently Baptized and it was one of the HAPPIEST days of my life. I have truly changed for the better and my life will never be the same. The church teaches that Baptism is essential to our salvation. Baptism washes away all of our sins. I especially loved learning and knowing that baptism washes away all of our sins. I have done things in my past I was not proud of. Before my baptism I asked Heavenly Father for forgiveness for all I had done wrong in my life, and then my baptism washed away all my sins. It gave me a beautiful clean slate. When we are baptized, we are baptized by immersion. This means we are dipped all the way under the water. It may sound intimidating, but its not. My baptism was a very spiritual experience for me and knowing that Jesus Christ was baptized the exact same way I was, was very comforting. Immersion is symbolic of the death of a person's life and the rebirth into spiritual life - which is EXACTLY what it felt like. Show more Show less
