Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Emily

I'm energetic and love to laugh. I'm a musician. I'm a geek. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name's Emily. I grew up in Bounitful, Utah, and went on to serve as a full-time missionary in the Sweden Stockholm Mission (otherwise known as the best mission in the world). I've been home for a while now and am living the college dream at BYU. I love all things food (to the degree that I'm majoring in food sciences), movies, music, being outside, and just generally having a good time. I love to laugh and usually find an excuse to do it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the joy the gospel brings into my life. When I'm living my life as my Savior would have me live it, nothing compares to the happiness and light I can have with me all the time. My belief in Christ has gotten me through the hardest times in my life, and I know that it will continue to be the foundation I build on as I face future hardships. I live the gospel because it makes me a better person, and it gives me confidence to face every day knowing that I am a daughter of God, that He loves me, and that He has a plan for me and for all of His children. I'm grateful to know there are living prophets on the Earth today as there were in the times of Moses, and to have the comfort of knowing that God is still involved in the lives of His children just as much now as He was then. I'm grateful as well to have the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. It has taught me so much about my Heavenly Father, and has brought me so much nearer to my Savior Jesus Christ. I would be lost without the scriptures and the truths they contain.

How I live my faith

Well, the missionary tag came off a while ago, so these days, rather than devoting myself full-time to sharing the gospel through words, I'm devoting myself full-time to sharing it through the way I live my life. The highlight of my day is often when I get to really get into the scriptures and have that personal time to listen to what my Heavenly Father has to say to me. Another way I love to live my faith is in looking for ways to help other people, whether that's at a large scale in a service project, or on the small scale making a new friend.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Emily
When I want to see proof that a God exists, I look at all I have been given. Not just the big things, but the tiny little things, like breathing every minute whether or not I think about it. Gravity. The tiny workings of atoms in regular patterns that, while we can describe them in minute detail, we can't explain, keeping the world running all the while. I look at the things that happen in my life that happen just a little too perfectly to be coincidence, or at the hard times in my life when I have grown more than I ever could have imagined. I know that I have seen the influence of God in my life, and I know He works in the tiniest details of all we do. He is our Father, and He loves us very much. Show more Show less
