Hi I'm Elyse

I grew up in Wyoming and married an Idaho farmer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom to 3 great kids. I graduated from BYU-Hawaii with a degree in history/govt to teach secondary school, but have never taught full time. Instead I have been blessed to be able to stay home and be with my kids. We have worked together on our family farm. I have coached volleyball for 20 years. I have also spent many years as a substitute teacher and test proctor in our school district. I like to play the piano, read, and knit. I also really enjoy riding dirt bikes and cross-country skiing.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It brings great joy and satisfaction to my life. Being a member of His true church here on earth gives me an opportunity to serve my Father in Heaven as I serve those around me. Many times I have seen my family blessed by the power of the priesthood of God which has been restored to the earth. I know that I am a child of God and that He sent His son to become the Savior and redeemer of mankind. I know that Jesus Christ stands at the head of His church and that we have a living prophet on the earth today. Joseph Smith is indeed the prophet of restoration, and translated the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Christ and his ministry on the North American Continent. Knowing these things and knowing that God has a plan for all of us makes me happy, and brings peace and hope to my life.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in my church. I currently work with the young women as a leader and a teacher, and the director of our girl's summer camp. I also serve as a guide at a local church historical site. I love to sing in choirs and have been involved in many performances for different holidays and special occasions.
