Hi I'm Elder Savage

I am a full-time volunteer for the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am serving in Moscow, Russia - I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy running as a hobby but also as a sport. I had the opportunity to run cross country for 3 years in high school. In my senior year of high school I made the Varsity Cheer Leading Team which was a big accomplishment for me; I hope to continue with the sport through college. I am very social and enjoy being around people. School has always been a place I've loved to be and I am looking forward to one day attending BYU. I have always wanted to go to BYU ever since I was a young boy. I am the 3rd child of 8. I am currently 19 years old and am serving a 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Moscow, Russia. I enjoy and am grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Russia and the Lord and devoting myself to the work of Salvation as a respresentative of the Most High God.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my entire life. But that is not why I stay in the church. Most of why I am an active member is because of what I believe and what I feel about my savior Jesus Christ and his gospel. In the past I have had many experiences that let me feel my savior's love for me. I have been able to build my testimony on my belief and based on my experiences. I have the knowledge that this church is true, as I have had it confirmed so many times to me before. I love the gospel and try my best to live it. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am an Elder in the Melchizedek priesthood and am currently serving a full-time 2-year Mission. I have been set apart as a volunteer for the church and will serve 2 years in Moscow, Russia from 2016-2018. I enjoy speaking in church and sharing my testimony and how I have come to know for myself of the truthfulness of the Gospel. I have already had a wonderful experience as I am on the Lord's errand as his servant here in Russia. As I strive to help the members grow, I seek to understand how I might be a more effective instrument in God's hands and how I can build my talents for the benefit of those we serve. I have always enjoyed exercise and running and just about everything within that realm. Many teachings and principles of Christ's Gospel can be explained using the analogy of exercise. You cannot do push-ups or pull-ups FOR someone and have them receive the strength and benefits. It requires constant effort to keep yourself physically fit. Likewise, it requires constant effort to keep yourself spiritually strong. As I study the scriptures and pray I feel a connection to my Heavenly Father. This connection allows me access to the Love that our Father in Heaven feels for each of His children. When I (and we) feel this love it drives [me] to become better; more christlike. Throughout the course of my studies in the Book of Mormon, I learn something new in each scripture passage containing some spiritual pearl not noticed before. It's not that they are different words written, but the Spirit speaks to each person differently and according to circumstance. I know that as I read I receive guidance from the Holy Ghost and each person can seek that same guidance. I know my Savior lives and that is the driving force that leads me to desire to serve Him. He is our Redeemer and He is The Christ.
