Hi I'm Jaxon Dario Shiner

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in California. I'm a communications technology professional.

About Me

I am a fiber services business development professional and published author. I am married and a father of two sons and a grandfather of four grandchildren. I am interested in family based activities such as camping, scouting, water sports (swimming & water polo), geneology, family history, world history, communications of all kinds through technology.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 5th generation member of this church. I have ancestors that walked across the United States with their posessions piled on a handcart in the late 1840s over 160 years ago to be able to practice their religion in the Utah territory. I have personally gained a testimony of the Savior and his restored gospel by fervent personal prayer and humble supplication for forgiveness of my sins. I have felt the power of the Atonement in my heart, in my mind, and in my soul. I know that He hears our prayers. His Gospel gives me a point of reference in my life that makes living through mortality with my family a joy indeed.

How I live my faith

I participate in our local chuch organization by teaching in the 14-16 year old age group. I am a home teacher and monthly visit homes of 4 separate families to fellowship them and to help them with any spiritual or temporal needs they may have. Over the years I've been privilaged to serve in five seperate bishoprics in various leadership positions. I've been a scoutmaster and cubmaster in our church youth programs. I've served as a ward mission leader and other local ward leadership positions. I'm also currently involved in the stake Public Affairs outreach in our area by working as an opinion leader specialist with local media outlets, political leaders, and other religious groups to do public service volunteer projects within our local community.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

Jaxon Dario Shiner
One of the great doctrines taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that we know where we came from, what our purposes in this life are, and where we are going after we die. From an early age I was taught by wise parents that I had a loving Heavenly Father that knew exactly who I was. That I could speak to Him, as needed, through the medium of prayer. What a blessing that knowledge has been in my life. By knowing that I existed in a heavenly state with loving heavenly parents, who sent me here to earth so I could progress and gain a physical body, gave me a foundational bedrock of hope and optimism that has helped me in every decade I've been journeying through the minefields of life. The time on earth has a purpose. We are here to learn how to be better sons and daughters and members of a heavenly family. Through faith, we are here to gain knowledge that we can take with us through all eternity. I know that our elder brother, Jesus Christ, has given us through his infinate atonement the ablility for our spirits to be resurected with our physical bodies after our time on earth is complete. I know we will be able to see and dwell with our earthly family members after we pass from this life. What joy this gives my soul to know that there is life after death, and that through faith in Jesus Christ and his gospel, we can be with our loving heavenly father and all our family members for all eternity.
