Hi I'm Alyssa

I play the flute and piano. I am a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was recently married in the Mesa Arizona temple to my sweet, sweet husband. I am into photography, accounting, flute, and piano. I recently started teaching flute to younger girls. I love it! I hope to one day have a big family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church my entire life. However, everyone needs a conversion story. Many things have contributed to why I stay a member. But the number one reason happened only recently. It was while I was praying to my Father in Heaven. I was praying whether the church was true or not. I felt like it was, but I realized I had never prayed about it, like we're taught to do in the scriptures. Almost immediately after I started to pray, I felt an intense feeling that I have never felt before. I could feel what Heavenly Father was feeling towards me. I could see how much he loved me and how I was doing exactly what he wanted me to do. I began to cry. I knew that this was in fact His church. I remember after having that feeling, just thanking Heavenly Father for all the blessings, for all the friends and family, for all the trials, for everything that has ever happened to me, good or bad, because they have made me who I am today. The bad things often times don't turn into blessings in disguise, but I don't want anyone's trials but mine. After thanking Him for all these things, seconds, minutes past. I paused to listen to Him. He once again showed me how much He loved me, and he once again confirmed that this is His church. I said Amen and got in my bed to sleep and cried. I was overwhelmed with happiness. I know that this is His church. I know that He loves me and that I love Him. I know that His son, Jesus the Christ, died on the cross so that I may be able to be forgiven of my sins. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, I cannot deny it. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. I invite everyone to read the Book of Mormon and pray if it is true. Pray if this church is true. You will get your answer when you need it most. It took me 19 years to get mine. I know that prayers are answered. I say these things, in the name of Jesus the Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I teach all the little kids at church songs. We have fun together. Often times I realize that I am teaching these children, so that they can teach me. They are so full of love. They help me through the bad times. I love it, and I wouldn't change it for the world. All of my friends, members or not, know that I am mormon. I was the one kid in high school, that if a rated R movie came on, I would raise my hand and ask if I could do something else in the hall, as I do not want to watch a rated R movie. It took a lot of courage, but it paid off in the end. People respected me for standing up for my beliefs. One time in high school, these teens were making fun of my religion and what I believed in. I held my ground. Saying anything would only cause them to twist my words into something different. Finally, I got up and left only later to find out that two of my friends had stood up for me and told the rude teens that it isn't right to make fun of someone's religion, especially since they had no idea what they were talking about. Oh, how I am grateful for friends! Mormon or not! There are good people out there and they strive, if you let them know, to stand by you. I strive to always be an example of what I believe in.
