Hi I'm Garett

I am a Mormon

About Me

I am in my 50s and have been married for about 30 years. My wife and I have 3 daughters and 9 grandchildren. We enjoy most activities that involve swimming and spend a lot of time at pools, the lakes of Utah and manage to make a trip to the beach most summers. We also enjoy cycling, camping and spending time with extended family in Southern Utah. I work in health care as a nurse and have the opportunity to meet several people each day as I participate in their care.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Mormon church with my parents when I was 9 years old and have come to know it is true by living by it's principles and receiving the blessings of peace and joy promised in scripture. The basic premise of the church is that we are children of a loving God who wants us to be happy in this life and the life to come. Included in this premise is the fact that we can live together with our family forever as we learn to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. having worked in healthcare for many years, I have witnessed the passing of several patients and the toll that it can take on their family. How grateful I am to know that death will not separate me from my family.

How I live my faith

My wife and I currently work with a congregation of young adults and have the chance to learn from them as we serve one another through weekly meetings, monthly visits and service activities. A major part of this service is learning to be more like the Savior, Jesus Christ by developing tolerance and charity for those around us. We are also involved in service in our home as we strive help our children and grandchildren find the joy and happiness that living the commandments brings.
