Hi I'm Megan

I'm a Canadian girl through and through and love the outdoors. I am about to become an Elementary Teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In December I will finally graduate with a Bachelors of Education. I love teaching school and the creative outlet it gives me as well as the opportunity to help children discover their talents, nurture a curiosity for life and learning and open doors to the potential they have. I have spent three summers working in Waterton National Park and have a great love for the Mountains and would rather be adventuring outdoors than doing anything else. I truly believe a summer is not complete until I have been hiking, biking, fishing and swimming at least three times. I have a great passion for music and love to play piano. I recently have taken up playing the guitar and am always on the look out to pick up new talents.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful for this church. In a world where it sometimes feels like you are pulled in a million different directions and have constant distractions, it anchors me and reminds me that my life has a purpose and that I am loved by a God who knows me perfectly. It is no mistake that we are where we are. God's hand is in my life and every time I may doubt that an evidence of his love is made manifest. This gospel brings me peace and confidence that God is in control of my life and that if I will have faith in him, keep the commandments and be an instrument in his hands that my life can be a great and a marvelous work. I know that the curve balls that come in life are periods where God is working on us to help us reach our true potential. I love the Book of Mormon and know that when you make honest efforts to study it daily that it will help you know how to be happy. I know that through God our very natures can be changed because of the atonement and that our weaknesses can truly become strengths. This hope and promise that the gospel offers is something that keeps me going. I know that God knows who I am and that he loves me. He knows me better than I know myself and that message is something that the world needs to hear. I am so grateful that I was born into this gospel and know that God relies on me to help share his word and take care of my brothers and sisters and it is such a blessing to do so throughout my life.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things about our church is that it is a church of action. My faith and conviction doesn't stop after I have gone home from church on Sundays. I have been so blessed to have wonderful callings that have helped me to truly understand that the Lord needs each of us daily to help serve and lift up our brothers and sisters. Service helps me feel connected to my Savior and brings me true happiness.
