Hi I'm Dallin Scott

I am serving an LDS Mission in Michigan. I love my family and I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored.

About Me

I love to play sports! From basketball to baseball to track and more, physical activity is a large portion of my life. I also enjoy gaining knowledge through educational activities, even when it becomes stressful and challenging. I am the oldest of three children and am preparing to serve an LDS Mission in Detroit. I can be found daily riding my bike or running in the morning or evening. I enjoy spending time with my family and like to play two-on-two basketball at our church building. I am involved in scouts and have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America. I participate in mutual activities with my ward and serve as the First Assistant to the Bishop in the Priest's Quorum. I hold the Melchizedek Priesthood and love to help others and give service whenever others are in need. I love and am so grateful for my family, my friends, my relatives, my ward leaders, and for their guidance and direction. I love the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true, I love the Priesthood and have a knowledge of its power, I have a testimony of the restored Gospel, and I love God and all that He has and continues to bless me with! He lives and loves each of His children here on Earth. He knows each person individually and wants the best for them in life and the eternities. I have felt His power and influence in my life and know He is there for me always!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which is the same thing as being a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I know that His church, meaning Jesus Christ's chruch, is true. I know it is true because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it, and prayed about it, and I have felt the Holy Ghost tell me that it is true. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and serves to further testify of the words in Holy Bible. It is also an account of the events that took place during the time of our ancestors, before and after Christ visited the Earth to restore truth and light to a world of darkness and confusion. It is the keystone to the restored Gospel here on the Earth and will draw a man closer to God as he abides by its precepts.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving faithfully as First Assistant to the Bishop. I get up every Sunday morning and head to our meeting house to prepare myself and others for Sacrament meeting. Often times I will help the teachers prepare the sacrament and encourage the other Priests to have confidence as they complete the sacrament prayer. I also participate as a member of the Youth Committee, geared towards planning activities conducive to the Spirit and inclusive of everyone. As a youth, my responsibilities are few in number, but great in stature. As I progress, I not only prepare for and carry new responsibilities, but I also carry the responsibilities from my previous priesthood offices. In simpler terms, I take on new responsibilities the older I get, but still carry out the responsibilities I fulfilled as a younger Aaronic Priesthood holder when I am called upon.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Dallin Scott
Our prophet today is President Thomas S. Monson, and he is assisted by his first and second counselers, President Henry B. Eyring, and President Dieter F. Uctdorf. They make up the first presidency. In addition to these men, the Quorum of the 12 Apostles serve as representatives of the Gospel and Jesus Christ as they teach, expound, and enlighten us as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Quorum of the 12 Apostles includes Russell M. Nelson, Dallin H. Oaks, M. Russell Ballard, Robert D. Hales, Jeffrey R. Holland, David A. Bednar, Quentin L. Cook, D. Todd Christofferson, Neil L. Andersen, Ronald A. Rasband, Gary E. Stevenson, and Dale G. Renlund. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Dallin Scott
The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and still is God’s Son. It contains the writings of ancient prophets, and those that came before us. It serves to testify of the many teachings and writings contained in the King James version of the Bible. At the end of the book, there is a promise that those who read its words and sincerely pray for knowledge and understanding, for the truthfulness of the book, will find comfort, guidance, and direction. They can gain knowledge and a testimony, through the power of the Holy Ghost, of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
