Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in Arizona and Utah. I'm a writer, a musician, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm the oldest of five kids, and I absolutely love my family--they're like my best friends. They and my friends are wonderful, silly, crazy, and love to laugh with me (and at me, sometimes). I love lame puns and movie references. I love people and exploring new things, waiting for my next adventure to unfold. I've been writing ever since I can remember, captivated by the magic of a good story. I love music--especially violin and guitar. I also like to sing, though I'm not very good at it. I also love learning about history, new places, and cultures. I want to travel the world someday. I was recently called to serve a mission in Puebla, Mexico, and I'm SO excited to share the gospel to the people there!!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members, but we didn't really go to church until I was about ten years old. I have my best friend, missionaries, kind members, and my Heavenly Father to thank for that. I knew, even then, that something felt right about this church as I learned about God and Jesus Christ and this wonderful gospel. I've seen the difference it makes in my life, and I know that I am a much better and happier person because of it. It all just makes sense to me.This gospel and way of life makes me happy--more than anything else in the world could. I love the Book of Mormon. I know that it is true and that there are precious and important things in its pages. The gospel is for everyone--everyone around the world, of all shapes and sizes, from all kinds of backgrounds, because it is the truth. Everyone can change and strive to be a little bit better everyday. All it takes is one step--and another, and another, until you find you are walking. And we keep walking. I know that this gospel is true, and I know the power of prayer and faith, and I know that I am a child of God. I know that I am going on a mission to spread all that I know about this gospel and bring the light of truth to those who don't have it--helping others to find and come unto Christ and make it back to our Heavenly Father, to find happiness, to help bring their family together for eternity, and to take part in all the wonderful blessings that come from living the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be a better person every day, one day at a time. I try to be a good example to those around me in all that I say and do. Though I'm shy, I try my best to be a good friend to everyone I meet. I read my scriptures regularly--loving how I feel as I read stories of others' faith, trials, and triumphs as they strive to live the words of God and improve themselves and help others. My family is all about service and hard work, and I know and can see the blessings and rewards in my life because of it. I cling to the truth, trying to do the right thing in every choice I make. Prayer has a huge influence in my life because I can feel a wonderful spirit around me, assuring me that this gospel is true and that I am literally talking to my Heavenly Father and I know that He hears and answers every one of my prayers--even the small ones.
