Hi I'm Mark

I am a chemical engineer in Baytown TX. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Tallahassee and later moved to Houston. I served a mission in Caracas, Aruba, and Puerto Rico. I went to school at BYU, where I met my wife, and we have 2 beautiful twin girls. I studied chemical engineering in college and now work as a technical engineer at a refinery.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the Book of Mormon for the first time when I 13. I always knew it was true growing up, but this was the first time I had actually prayed about it. I read the story about King Lamoni's father in the book of Alma, and how he was willing to give up everything to know God, and I decided that's what I wanted as well. I prayed to ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true and I felt really happy. I knew that the Holy Ghost was testifying to me about the truth of the Book and of the church. Ever since then, I've been committed to the gospel and to following the Savior.

How I live my faith

I'm the young men's president in our ward. Every Wednesday we get together at the church and have an activity and I usually teach the Priests quorum on Sunday. I help the youth by trying to teach them about the things that are most important to me - having faith in Christ and commitment to live His gospel. We also have many activities involving youth from other wards. Right now we are practicing basketball for a tournament later this month.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Mark
Faith in Christ increases by becoming more committed to living the way Heavenly Father wants us to live. The harder I try to be the person that He wants to be, the more faith I find that I have in him. Show more Show less
