Hi I'm Joel Hansen

I grew up in Utah. I love music and performing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved music and singing. It is how I draw closer to the savior. Through music, I feel the spirit more strongly than any other way. I have sung in about six choirs, and have participated in many more special ensembles and solos. Although I have suffered from stage fright in the past, through faith and prayer-a lot of prayer-I have now gotten to the point that I can perform for large crowds without loosing my composure too badly. Although I still am afraid when I am up in front of people, I can feel the Spirit calming and reassuring me that I can do it. It has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. As I have had the opportunity to share through music the message of the restored gospel, I have felt my own testimony grow. I know that as we strive to follow the lead of Christ, that he will guide us towards peace eternal and life everlasting. I also love making people laugh! Whether through a joke, a gift, a prank (I love pulling pranks!), I love seeing people smile. After all, one of the deepest desires of the human soul is happiness, and if I can bring a smile to someone in need, then I find myself smiling as well. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the Spirit witness to me that this church is the true church. I continue to follow because I know it is true. If I said I didn't believe, I would be lying, and simply put, lying is morally wrong. Not to mention not ok. I know that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son, and that, through him, they restored the Gospel to the earth in the latter days. I have felt the comfort that the Spirit brings in times of trouble and mourning. I know that the Lord cares for all of us, and for me individually. I have grown to love this church and all that it stands for. I am a Mormon because this is truly the Church of Jesus Christ!! He stands at the head of this church, and I have covenanted - or promised God - that I will follow Him with my whole heart forever. I know that this Church is true. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I love them, and I know that they love me.

How I live my faith

We believe that service is an integral part of living your faith. I often volunteer to serve the community, whether it be cleaning up a widows yard, helping fix a ward camp site, or simply visiting with the elderly. As I serve, I know that the Lord will bless me and those I love.
