Hi I'm Kynan Dockstader

I grew up in California. I LOVE art, music, and dancing. I'm a missionary in Canada. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm 19. I'm currently serving in the Canada, Vancouver Mission. I'm so thankful that I can be a part of this church and to have the opportunity to share this gospel with the wonderful people here in British Columbia. I enjoy dancing, music, and art. I come from a family of 5 kids and a cat :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be adopted into a family that was active in this church. My adoption was prearranged so I was essentially born and raised a member of the church. As I grew up I definitely had my faith tried and i had to find out for my self if it was true. As i've studied the scriptures, served in the church, and now in my servince as a full-time missionary i've come to know that tis is the true church. But being a member doesn't make my life perfect. I've faced challenges that have stretched me to the limits of my faith. About 9 months ago (July 5, 2013) my dad passed away suddenly while i was here on my mission. I had only been out for a little over a month and a half and no one would've been suprised if i had chosen to go home, but as i relied on my Savior and his atonement I prayed to know what i should do and received the answer that I should stay out and that my family would be blesssed for it. So now being a member of this church and having a testimony of this gospel has provided me with the strength to overcome this trial and the hope that my family and I will be with my dad agian one day.

How I live my faith

Well all my life I've tried to do my best to be an example to others. I wasn't always perfect but I made it a goal to always let people know what I believed through living it. Now I'm living my faith by serving as a full-time Missionary.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Kynan Dockstader
it's not required. I wasn't even considering serving a mission because at the time women had to be 21 to serve and I had other plans for my life, but in General Conference in October of 2013 they dropped the minimum age to 19 and I was so excited! I filled out my paper work and got my mission call to Vancouver Canada and here I am! So while it is not required it is still a wonderful opportunity and I hope everyone would at least consider serving. Show more Show less
