Hi I'm Beth

I am a mother of 5 and work fulltime helping people with intellectual disabilities. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 5. Five years ago, my husband and I felt inspired for me to find work that had good health insurance (We have our own business and didn't have very good insurance). I found a job and now I work with people with intellectual disabilities and have a great love for them. It has been a challenge to work outside the home, but it has it's rewards and turned out to be a great blessing for our family. My son was diagnosed with Leukemia three and half years ago and the health insurance from my job was a great blessing. He is a cancer survivor and a great example of courage and faith. I have felt the Savior's love for me and my family as we have gone through this trial. I have gained a stronger testimony of the power of prayer. I have felt humbled and felt much gratitude for blessings we have received. Looking back, I can see that the Lord gave me strength and watched over me and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad is a convert and joined when he was in his early twenties. He is the only member in his family. My mom is the only active member in her family. I grew up with extended family who did not have the gospel in their lives. My grandma, who wasn't too happy about my dad joining, would often say that she could feel something different about our home. I know this was the spirit that she felt. I always wanted this spirit to be with me in my life. I choose to follow the Lord's gospel because I want to feel the Holy Ghost and have His spirit with me. I know that Heavenly Father loves me. When I am in tune, I can feel His love. I have no doubt that having the knowledge of Heavenly Father's plan has given me comfort and faith throughout the hardships of life. I know the scriptures are true. I know we have a living prophet that leads and guides us. I know that Christ is the head of this church and that one day I will be able to be with Him and with my family. I say this in Jesus Christ's name Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church and serving others. After being the recipient of much service, I feel the great desire to serve others and to extend to others the tender love that I felt. I love to read the Ensign magazine as I can feel the spirit and it helps me want to be a better person. After much trial and error, my husband and I finally found a schedule that works for us to read the scriptures as a family. We can tell a difference in attitudes and there is more peace in our lives.
