Hi I'm Colin

I'm a husband, a father and a Mormon. I try to enjoy life and not take myself too seriously.

About Me

I try to stay active, which isn't too hard with two young daughters, a full-time job, a part-time hobby that's turning into a job, and a love of sports such as golf, wake boarding, snow boarding and basketball.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe the heavens are still open. I believe that God still speaks to us individually and to a prophet on the earth. I believe that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and that he restored the fullness of his gospel on the earth in the last days. I believe that there are similarities and common ground among all religions and that if we focus on the common ground instead of the differences, we will all be better off.

How I live my faith

I try to look for the best in other people and hope that others will do the same for me. I realize that everyone deals with their own struggles in life. I believe in a God who loves us all and wants us to be happy. The highest level of happiness comes by obeying God's commandments and striving to become better each day. I'm optimistic that if I continue each day to rely on the mercy of Jesus Christ, I'll return to live with him and with my family eternally.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Official Church Answer The Book of Mormon is another witness that Jesus Christ really lived, that He was and is God’s Son. It contains the writings of ancient prophets. One of these, Lehi, lived in Jerusalem around 600 B.C. God commanded Lehi to lead a small group of people to the American continent. There they became a great civilization. God continued to call prophets among these people. The Book of Mormon is a collection of the writings of their prophets and record keepers. It is named after Mormon, one of the last of these ancient prophets. These prophets knew about Heavenly Father’s plan for His children and the mission of Jesus Christ. They recorded that Christ appeared, after His Resurrection, to the people in America, taught them His gospel, and formed His Church among them. The book contains the teachings of Jesus Christ, testifying of His Atonement and His love. It supports and verifies the Bible. The Book of Mormon concludes with a great promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true (Moroni 10:4). Show more Show less
