Hi I'm Ryan Whitt

I was born and raised in the south. I love to play sports and to be outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fourth out of five children in my family, and love being with and doing stuff with them. I love to play just about any sport and love to do just about any outdoor activity. I have hiked numerous miles along the Appalachian Trail and love to take in the scenery and serenity of it all. I enjoy creating and listening to music and doing theater. I am also going to be a missionary for this church in Tijuana, Mexico.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in this church, and have grown to love and appreciate all of its teachings. My parents and siblings are a big reason as to why I am still in this church. But now that I am growing up I have learned that I want to continue to be in and live the teachings of this church. I have come to know that my Savior, Jesus Christ, does in fact live. And that he suffered for my pains, afflictions and sins. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God and that he did restore the true church back to earth. The teachings of this church, although sometimes hard to incorporate into our everyday lives, are there for my benefit and to help me be a better person. I strive to follow the commandments everyday. The scriptures are true. The Book of Mormon is the most correct book on this earth, and the teachings inside of it are meant to guide and direct us back to our loving Heavenly Father. I believe in the power of prayer and in the power of the Priesthood. I know that the Priesthood I have is sacred and is used to serve others according to the will of God. I love this gospel very much, and wish to share it with the people of Mexico, as I serve my mission there.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is by being obedient to my parents, the churches teachings and to God. I attend church, go to church-related activities and try to serve my community. I try to serve members of this church and community as much as I can by helping those in need, whether it is through the food-bank, helping someone move in to a new house or planting grass in the outer banks to avoid erosion. Any way I can help, I will.
