Hi I'm Jesse

I was born and raised in St. George Utah. I will be serving a mission in Madagascar, Antananarivo.

About Me

I love anything that includes the outdoors. I play football and baseball and just recently won a state title with my football team. I love camping and hiking with family and friends and just being able to spend time with them. I love music and I also love singing. I just recently was called on a full time mission to serve in the Madagascar, Antananarivo mission for the next to years of my life. I am so excited and can't wait to be able to go and serve and teach the people there. I love the gospel and don't know what I would do without it.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young I did not understand the full meaning of being a part of His church. I would just live under my parents' testimony and leave it at that. As I became older and began to make decisions for myself, I often found myself alone and could not quite make the decisions that I know I should have. I began to really question myself. That is when I made the decision to see for myself if this is the church for me and if what I had learned is true. I began to read and ponder the scriptures with a continuous prayer that I could know for myself that it is true. In the beginning of my study I could not feel that confirmation from the spirit. I realized that had not been asking the right questions and that answers do not come when I want them to. I continued to read and pray earnestly that I could know of the truthfulness of the gospel. It wasn't until I was down to my last hope and I had given him everything I had just to know that I received my answer. The feeling I received was the most powerful and real feeling I had ever experienced. I know that it was the spirit of God that was talking to me and confirming my belief. After receiving the answer I knew and I could not deny that everything I had read and heard was true and I needed to share that with everyone. I know that the lord has answered my prayers and I know he will answer anyone who asks sincerely and gives up everything they have to him. I know if we give up everything we want, he will give us everything we need. This church is true and I love it.

How I live my faith

I was born and raised in the church and I have had many opportunities to live my faith. I have the opportunity to be the assistant ward mission leader in my ward until I leave for my mission and I am so blessed to have that calling. It is such a great experience working with the missionaries in my ward and seeing how much they grow and improve in their missionary efforts. I will be leaving August 7, 2013 to the MTC and after my time spent there, I will head to Madagascar to serve a full time mission. I am so thankful for my opportunity to go and serve the lord's children and invite them to feel the same happiness I have felt in my own life.
