Hi I'm Tim

I grew up in central Maryland with great parents and wonderful brothers and sisters.

About Me

Since I can remember, I've loved sports and physical activity. I started playing soccer at a young age and later came to love basketball. A lot of the traits and qualities I developed/learned from sports have carried over to the rest of my life: a commitment to practice and hard work, determination, persistence, teamwork, and a drive to prove myself. This has helped me in my schoolwork and career, my opportunities to serve in church and the community, and my family. Although I love sports and outdoor activities, my absolute favorite thing in the world is being a husband and father. I'm blessed with a wonderful wife and 4 wonderful kids. I always loved being a kid, and it's just as great letting kids be kids and having fun with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because the Holy Ghost has testified to my soul of the divine mission and calling of Jesus Christ, as our Savior, and the restoration of His gospel. That same witness of the Holy Ghost has testified to me that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and was brought forth in fulfillment of ancient prophecy. I know that God has restored his priesthood authority to earth again by those who anciently held it and that it exists on the earth today. Just as in days of old when holders of this priesthood exercised it righteously to heal, bless, lift and build the Lord's kingdom, I've seen it exercised in my life in miraculous ways for the same purposes. I am so grateful for the Savior. In a very real way, although difficult to explain, I've felt forgiveness and compassion and am filled with hope. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me true happiness.

How I live my faith

Everything I do centers on the truth that I am a Son of God, a Heavenly Father who loves me and wants me to be the best I can and to become more like Him. Although I'm far from perfect, I know that I can become better because of Jesus Christ's Atonement. Because of His sacrifice, I can choose to obey his commandments and serve Him by serving others. I try to serve others and teach/lead as Christ would in many ways, including participation in Boy Scouts as well as coaching youth sports teams. I also serve in church in various ways such as teaching Sunday school lessons, visiting those in need, and providing service where needed (whether someone needs help moving, cleaning, etc.). I've found that turning my focus from myself to others, whether its family members, friends, neighbors, church members, or others, brings true joy and happiness.
