Hi I'm Margaret (Peggy) Pierce

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, baptized eight years ago.

About Me

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, baptized at age 55. Since reading Nancy Drew books in my pre-teen years, murder mysteries have been my favorite fictional genre. As my testimony grows, though, I find myself more drawn to the Scriptures as well as articles and talks written by Church leaders. It is in those writings that I find the most peace and entertainment.

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I attended lots of different denominational churches as I was growing up and enjoyed those experiences. I've known since I was very little that there is a God and that His Son willingly atoned for mankind's sins. It's just that when the Mormon missionaries began teaching me about the Church, the information touched me in a way other religions had not. I don't think that our beliefs are very different from other Christian beliefs. But, for me, Mormon teachings just feel fuller and more true. I obtain a peace in my soul from reading the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible that I never, ever felt in other religions.

How I live my faith

For the last year and a half, I was a "Sunday school" teacher for children 4 to 7 years old. Just recently, I was reassigned to work with our Ward's adult women. These opportunities to interact with different members of our church family allow us to serve each other in ways we would not otherwise have.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Margaret (Peggy) Pierce
This is one of the simplest and most easily answered questions that Mormons are asked. Simply put, just read any portion of the Book of Mormon and then sincerely ask God if what you are reading is true, I promise that you will receive a feeling in your heart that you recognize as saying, "Yes, it is true." Feelings of peace and comfort can also come as you read the Bible or the Book of Mormon. This is also confirmation of the truth of what you are reading. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Margaret (Peggy) Pierce
The only difference between my "Mormon" Holy Bible and another Christian denomination's is that my Bible provides cross-references to similar passages which are contained in the Book of Mormon. "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ" is a record of God's dealings with the people of ancient America (from 2000 BC to 400 AD). It contains cross-references to the Holy Bible.
