Hi I'm Benjamin

I was born and raised in Utah. I am a Ballroom Dancer, a Classical Singer and a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely LOVE Ballroom Dance. It is one of the many joys in my life. I have always enjoyed expressing myself, and my emotions, and Ballroom Dance was a fantastic way for me to do that!!! Ever since I started dancing, I have been in love with it...It has truly been a blessing to be able to learn and study dance over the last couple of years, and it has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father. As is true with many Ballroom Dancers, I also LOVE music. I play the piano, and sing classically. I have had the chance to work with a great vocal teacher through the years, and have really loved being able to improve my vocal ability. It has been something that has also been a great blessing in my life. Music holds a great deal of influence over me. I can easily be brought up or pushed down based on the music that I listen to, and sing. I love to sing hymns and songs of praise to our Heavenly Father. They never fail to lift my attitude, and help me to feel God's love for me better. I am also an avid runner. I love the feeling of pushing my body to the limits, and working to improve my times. It's such a great feeling to get finished with a run/race and realize that you have broken your previous PR (personal record). I have found running to be a great schoolroom for me. I have learned so much about perseverance and patience, and have learned that I can really do much more than I ever thought possible!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I find so many evidences in the world that attest to the existence of our Heavenly Father. It is always amazing to me to go out and see the amazing things that he has created for me. Every time I get the chance to spend time out in nature, I find my testimony of God's existence strengthened. Throughout my childhood, I have been blessed to learn of the gospel, and come to know of it's truthfulness. I can say without a doubt, that I know that this church is true. I love it's doctrines and teachings. One of the key things that has strengthened my testimony throughout the years is the Book of Mormon. I know that this book was truly inspired by God. I know that the prophets who wrote the book were inspired, and I know that Joseph Smith was working under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit as he translated this work. This book has always uplifted me, and has been a great stronghold for me to help get me through tough times. If you have not read this book, I would highly suggest that you read it, and take the challenge offered in Moroni 10:4-5!!! It will CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!!

How I live my faith

I have always wanted to serve a mission for the LDS church. This summer, I will be leaving to go out for 2 years, serve the Lord, and teach people about our church. This is an amazing opportunity that I have looked forward to for many many years!!! I cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for me on my mission, and preparing for this goal has guided and influenced my life tremendously! I have found that following the commandments and laws that our Heavenly Father has set out to guide our lives truly helps me to be happy. Many people look at commandments as restrictions on what they can do...I look upon them as not restrictions, but instruments of freedom. By following the commandments, I am happy, and the quality of my life is much higher than when I am disobedient!!! I also love to give service. One of my favorite scriptures in the Book of Mormon is in the book of Mosiah, Chapter 2, Verse 17. It says that "when you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God." By serving my neighbors and friends, I am able to not only help them, but serve God. There is no greater feeling than to know that you have been able to make a difference in someone's life, through the service that you have rendered them. I always go away from a service opportunity with a greater love for the people I serve, and for my Heavenly Father.
