Hi I'm Travis

I am from Tennessee in the United States. I enjoy sports and recreational activities. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Travis. I played football and soccer in high school. I am an Eagle Scout, I earned it right before my 18th birthday. I am a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in Boise, Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life and I love this gospel. It has changed my life in so many ways. I wouldn't be who I am today without it. I know that it is true and that Joseph Smith restored the fullness of Christ's gospel on the Earth. I am forever grateful for the sacrifices he made to bring us the gospel and the book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Idaho Boise Mission. I love being here and spreading the true and restored gospel to others. This gospel blesses individuals and families and its wonderful to bring others closer to Christ through this gospel.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Travis
Temples are a wonderful blessing that God has given us as members of his church. Before they are dedicated or re-dedicated, they are actually open to everyone to come visit and see them. However once they are dedicated to the Lord, only baptized members who are properly prepared and worthy can enter and participate in sacred ordinances and make covenants with our Heavenly Father. These ordinances and covenants are not secret, they are sacred. One of the ordinances we participate in is the binding of husband and wife, as well as children and parents for time and all eternity. We hold these ordinances and covenants sacred, therefore we do not speak of them outside the temple because they are very personal to us and the Lord. The temple is also a place where we can take time to ponder things and pray and seek guidance from the Lord. The temple is a place where we can find peace, and feel comforted in times of distress.
