Hi I'm Seth

I'm passionate about lifelong learning. I love being creative. I'm a husband, and a father of five, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I was young I struggled though school and consequently came out with very mediocre results and very few employment options. When I was in my early twenties and seeking direction about my future, I decided to pray really hard about what to do. I really know an answer came. It was very clear, but not a magic wand to my challenges. I have tried to remember and honour it ever since. I am now completing my second MA and about to begin training as a high school teacher. The road has not been easy but I am really grateful to know from personal experience that sincere prayer is answered.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were always quick to share their conversion stories, and this planted a simple faith that God is real and that life has purpose and meaning. In fact, one of the things that really influenced me as a child was the faith that life continues after death. One of the wonderful things about this particular belief (that our lives are part of something much bigger than birth-to-death) is feeling a profound sense of purpose. Trying to include God in my life has blessed me with gratitude for simple things and experiences with prayer that are really precious.

How I live my faith

I've had the chance to serve a full-time LDS mission (in northen England) which taught me loads about people. I currently teach a class of 8-10 year olds (which really keeps me on my toes! They're a lovely group thankfully!) As a family we try to spend our Monday nights having what we call Home Evening--a chance to learn about our faith together, have fun, and enjoy some tasty food treats!
