Hi I'm Dylan

I live in Abbotsford, BC, I play soccer and I am a Mormon

About Me

I live in what I consider one of the best places in Canada and am married to the girl of my dreams. Together we have 3 children who live life with a lot of enthusiasm. I grew up playing any sport I could and had the opportunity to play 5 years of soccer for my university. After I graduated I found myself working for a large bank owned investment firm providing wealth advisory services and have been here ever since.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't grow up in the LDS church, but that changed in the spring of 1997. I grew up attending a Christian church in my neighborhood and would read from my Bible everyday. I set a goal for myself to read it each day even if it was only one verse. After keeping it up for 6 months I decided to include the Book of Mormon in my daily reads and the more I read the more I was convinced it was from the same author as the Bible. I decided to learn more about the church doctrine from the missionaries and when I was taught about the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ and the Priesthood I wanted to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Being a christian presents some challenges, regardless of the denomination, however, when we make that commitment the Lord will help us on our journey through life. I feel secure in my belief that I am a son of God and that there is a heaven where we can dwell in his presence for eternity.

How I live my faith

It's one thing to know what is the right thing to do and another to apply that knowledge in the way we live. Everyday I get a new chance to do the best I can to live my life as my savior did. I read my scriptures and pray with my family and together we do the best we can. I have had many opportunities to live my faith. Everything from dedicating two years of my life in full time missionary work in Colorado to teaching Sunday School for my local congregation. As a parent I feel like the spotlight shines on my behavior a little more than when I was single and I try to set a good example for my family. One thing that I found fun to do was to participate in a 4 day youth retreat where we performed different activities to help us draw closer to Jesus Christ.
