Hi I'm Jessica

I've lived most of my life in Arkansas. I love music. I'm about to serve a mission in Panama. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 20 year old living in Arkansas, toward the middle of the United States. I am currently in college to be a music educator, but have decided to put that on hold in order to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I report to the Mexico MTC in just over a month, and from there, I will serve my mission in Panama. I am nervous about leaving my friends and family, and pausing my higher education, but I know its what I should be doing.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. I believe that through His son, he has made it possible for all of us, His children, to return to Him someday. I believe that I am on the right path by being a member of this church. To some it may seem like Latter Day Saints are restricted due to our rules and doctrine. I feel they are life saving guidelines, to help clear an easier path to be Christians, to help others along the way, and ultimately, return to our Father in Heaven. I've always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but that doesn't mean my path is any easier than anyone else's. I face trials daily. I make mistakes that make me question myself. I have learned that through diligent prayer, scripture study, and efforts to serve others, I can overcome any doubts or hardships. Through my Savior's help, and through my Heavenly Father's love, I, and anyone else here on earth can go forth and do exactly what they need to do, receive exactly what they need, and most importantly, gain an eternal happiness. Through this gospel, I have a forever family. Family is the center of Christ's church, and it is the center to my happiness as well. I am so grateful for the chance to one day begin my own little forever family, and take comfort in knowing that they will be a part of me in this life, and in the life to come. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I am a part of something that challenges me to be better, that uplifts me when I need to be, and that reminds of the most important part of my being; I am a child of God. He loves me, and I love Him. I will stand as a witness of that fact in every part of what I do, with my words, with my actions, and with my thoughts. You are a child of God. He loves you too. If we can remember that, nothing is too hard to overcome.

How I live my faith

I am currently not in any official callings in my ward, but I help a lot with the kids in their music time. I'm one of the very few in our small congregation that can play the piano, so I spend a lot of time going from one class to another, helping out when I can. Its something I really enjoy doing, so I don't mind going and helping out.
