Hi I'm Mariah

I grew up next door to Kennedy Space Center. I love babies. I'm serving a mission in Brazil. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! My name is Mariah and I am 21 year old Floridian. As a kid I loved to watch shuttle launches from my backyard, pick oranges, and swim in the ocean. I am the youngest of five kids and I adore my eight nieces and nephews. I am a student at Brigham Young University and I am working towards becoming a Certified Nurse-Midwife to help women bring babies into the world! I am most happy when I'm baking, watching movies, spending time with my family, and traveling. I love to explore the world! My latest adventure was a 18 month long mission in Brazil and Kentucky. I love my family, I love the East Coast, I love brownies, and I love the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost and the Book of Mormon have touched my life and provided counsel and comfort time and time again, re-confirming what I was taught as a young child. I am Mormon because of how much sense the gospel makes: that God's truth would be restored in modern days, that we would need continual revelation through latter-day prophets, and that we can be together with our families after death. I am a Mormon because of the purpose and direction that Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness has given to my life. It is so easy to mess up and get lost in life, to feel aimless or confused. We all at some point ask ourselves where we came from before birth, why we are here, and what happens to us after death. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ provides God's children with the answers to those questions and gives me the perspective and wisdom I need. I know there is a God in heaven and that He has provided us a way to continually receive divine guidance and comfort so we can make it back to Him someday.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by starting each day with a prayer and a resolve to do my best as a disciple of Christ. The best way to share what I believe is to live the gospel with precision and not be ashamed to keep God's commandments even though it might be considered weird, different, or too conservative. I also live my faith by teaching gospel principles in church classes on Sunday and telling my friends about my beliefs and why I live the way I do. Over the course of my life I have accepted "callings" which are responsibilities to teach gospel principles in classes to men and women, young and old. I base my lessons on the scriptures, the teachings of our modern prophets and apostles, and my own personal experiences and insights from the Spirit. Teaching these classes is an amazing personal experience for me because I really have to rely on the Lord to know what would be most important to teach and how to teach most effectively. Teaching others gives me the opportunity to test what I know and believe and allows me to share my honest testimony. I live my faith by service. I live my faith by teaching. I live my faith by trying to see every person as child of God who has worth and potential. I live my faith line upon line, precept upon precept, trying every day to be a better example and disciple of Christ than the day before.
