Hi I'm Sean

I'm an outdoor enthusiast and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm an outdoor enthusiast. I study math at BYU. I'm currently a full-time missionary serving in Virginia.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family. Like so many do, I chose to be baptized at the age of eight. I knew what I was choosing to do, but I did not have the strongest testimony at the time. After growing up in the church and even attending BYU for a year, I realized that I did not have my own personal testimony of the Jesus Christ. I knew the basic story of Christ, but I did not gain a testimony of his atonement. I relied on the testimony of my parents and others throughout my youth. I had read through the Book of Mormon a couple times, but I had never asked God in the name of Christ if it was true. When I came to this realization, I started to question everything I had been taught. Every ounce of faith that I had became drowned out by the doubts that were starting to arise. I read some anti-mormon literature, which added energy to the doubts I was having. I was trying to find out whether the Book of Mormon was true without reading it. After a couple months of a struggle, I decided that the only way I could know if there was a God would be to experiment upon the words. I started to sincerely pray and read from the Book of Mormon. I started feeling the love of God in my life again. Not some fictional feeling that I imagined, but the actual spirit described in Galatians 5:22-23. Through the Holy Spirit, I came to know the Book of Mormon is true. Though the truth of the Book of Mormon necessarily implies that Joseph Smith is a prophet, God has blessed me with other experiences that confirm the truth of the restoration of His church to me. I know that this is the Jesus Christ's church restored to the Earth in this dispensation of the fulness of times. I love God and want to follow the example of His son by honoring the covenants I have made with him. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have served in many different callings as I have been a member of the LDS Church. Right now, I am serving as a full-time missionary in the Virginia area.
