Hi I'm Chad

I am a father of 5. I am a physician assistant and see kids with type 1 diabetes and other hormonal disorders.

About Me

I love participating in the activities of my children. I am the basketball coach for two of my kids and the soccer coach for two of my other children. I enjoy participating in scouts with my two boys. Our whole family enjoys going camping. I like going to my children's piano and dance recitals. I love just spending time with my family. My hobbies include participating in sports such as basketball, soccer, and tennis. I have also run many half marathons and even ran a full marathon that nearly killed me :). I do family history research. I love reading. I really enjoy my career as a physician assistant. I like being involved in the lives of children who are living with chronic conditions such as diabetes, growth, adrenal, and thyroid disorders. I help make a difference in their lives and this makes my job very satisfying.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ and the church teachings give me direction in my life. It helps me in my decisions at work, at home, and everything I do. It helps guide me in teaching my kids to make good choices. It motivates me to be involved in the lives of my children. It gives my life a purpose. It helps me to understand that I can live eternally with my family in the presence of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father has greatly blessed me and my family. Because the gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed me, I feel it is important to share the gospel with others. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior, that he paid the price for my sins. He died for me, but I know he now lives. I know I can live with my family eternally. I know the Book of Mormon is true and teaches me about Jesus Christ. His church has been restored to the earth.

How I live my faith

I try to stay active in my community. My wife and I are the neighborhood watch coordinators. I try to attend city meetings that involve my neighborhood. I am on the board of the West Jordan Youth Soccer League. In my local ward I participate in missionary work with the full time missionaries. I interact with members of our church and help them to become more involved in the church. I invite them to come unto Christ and enjoy the blessing that the gospel of Jesus Christ can offer them. I also interact with people who are not members of our church and help them (along with the full time missionaries) to learn more about the church so that they too can enjoy the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Chad
Jesus taught, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:5). This included everyone including Jesus Christ himself. He was baptized as an example for all of us. We perform proxy baptisms for those who have died to give everyone an opportunity to "enter into the Kingdom of God." These baptisms do not force that deceased individual to become a "Mormon." Rather, that deceased person has the opportunity to accept or decline that baptism. By accepting the baptism, that deceased person can then receive the same opportunity to "enter into the Kingdom of God." Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Chad
I believe the answer to these questions to be most definitely YES! God instituted the marriage relationship to form families that can last forever. Marriage was never intended to be "until death do you part." A man and a women married in holy temples sealed by the power of God's priesthood can have a marriage that lasts for all time and eternity. This same sealing power can also bind children to their parents for all time and eternity. I know this to be true. I am very grateful that I will be married and sealed to my wife for all eternity. I am also very grateful that my children have been sealed to me and my wife. Through our temple sealing, my family will be able to live eternally with Heavenly Father forever. What a blessing!! What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Chad
One of the most important roles of a husband and wife in the family is the rearing of children. As a father, I have the responsibility to provide for the physical needs of my family. But more importantly, I have the responsibility of helping my children to have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, to obey the commandments of God, to make good choices that will lead them back to the presence of Heavenly Father, and to be a good person and citizen. This is the main focus of my life and a responsibility that I take seriously. Show more Show less
