Hi I'm Lorna

I am my own person and I have a life filled with joy and peace. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of 6 children. I have a BA degree in Family and Consumer Science. I love to read, garden, hike, go river rafting, boating, fishing and camping. Our family are farmers. It can be hard at times, but working together is usually a good experience for our whole family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that are members, but there was a time in my youth when I wanted my own answers about the gospel. I have been blessed with faith in God and so I did not doubt that he knew me and my needs. But I wanted to know for myself if Joseph Smith was really a prophet. I prayed and studied this in my mind, and then as I heard another's testimony about Joseph, the spirit of God was undeniably touching my soul. I knew that what he said was true. I have friends who have been taught that Mormons are just brainwashed followers, BUT I have had so many spiritual experiences that I cannot deny and there is no room for doubt in my mind. It is part of who I am and I am so blessed to know this. It helps me to walk through life with a purpose and direction. It has given me peace and happiness that I otherwise would never have known. I am my own person and I know this gospel is the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today. We have a prophet and 12 apostles who minister to us and to the whole world. This is the way Christ set it up on the earth before and is the way it is set up today. We have the priesthood of God in righteous men. My husband holds the priesthood and blesses our family with it's power. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and atoned for my sins, sorrows and pain. In this atonement, I can grow to be more like Him and become perfected if I continue to repent and humble myself. I know this to be true and will live out my days with this imprinted on my soul.

How I live my faith

I am a cub scout den assistant leader as well as an assistant to the presidency in our Women's organization. I love to visit and watch over three wonderful sisters in my ward each month. I was recently involved in the Young Women's organization and loved working with these beautiful daughters of God. My own two daughters were attending young womens at the time and I enjoyed spending time with them. I was able to go camping with them for a week and that was a wonderful experience. I love people, and do my best to call those who are struggling with health problems to be sure they are taken care of and their needs are met.
