Hi I'm Adam Harkness

I grew up in South West Sydney. I am a husband and father to 3 children (with another on the way). I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to my darling wife and father to 3 children, with number 4 on the way. Like all families of these sizes, busy busy busy. I currently work as a financial planner and have done so for around 7 years. I love my job but like everyone have good days and bad days. I am a bit of a TV and movie buff, but I also like video games (PlayStation) and Magic the Gathering.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember once when I was pondering if there was something behind the scenes with it all. I was looking at my surroundings ,because I was in the Southern Highlands, and I pondered the beauty that I saw, how everything was different to the next thing, and at that point I knew that there WAS something, or someone behind it all.. Constantly improving myself is important and I know that by me fulfilling the promises that I made at my baptism that not only can I return to my Heavenly Father but it also makes me a better individual. I have learnt to become more loving, more patient (which is important when you have 3 kids), more respectful, I have also learnt a lot of skills that I can use at work. I also know that my Heavenly Father loves me and is there to help anytime I need it, and that is a great comfort. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has been one of the best things that has happened to my life. It set me on the path to where I am at the moment and I would not give that away for anything.

How I live my faith

I believe very strongly that helping people is central to the Lords work. I am currently the Branch President and this gives me a great opportunity to help people. Also being honest with your day to day dealings with my fellow human beings is how I live my faith. Keeping the word of wisdom is important as well, although I probably don't get as much exercise as I should!
