Hi I'm Dan

I am a lifelong Alaskan, I work and play outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 4 great kids. I work in the residential construction industry. I enjoy time outdoors, fishing, hunting, working in my yard. When inside I'm a voracious reader. I like to read on many subjects and always find it enjoyable and worthwhile. I blog on living a free, meaningful life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that God has revealed His true Gospel to us through modern -day prophets. He has revealed the way in which my family and I can be united for eternity. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Light that shines through the darkness in the world. I believe that following Jesus' example and spreading His Gospel is the only thing that will save the world from itself. I look forward to the day when He will reign with glory on the Earth. This is the hope that keeps me going when times are tough. I believe that God knows me and that He has a mission for me to accomplish while I am on the earth. I believe that after I die that God has prepared a place for me and my family in which we can be together in His presence. Through the sacrifice of Christ I know that I can be cleansed from my sins and return to God, worthy to be with Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others in my church assignments and in the community. I have worked as a Boy Scout leader and enjoy working with the youth. My current assignment in the church allows me to work in spreading the Gospel. I get to teach others ways in which they can share the Gospel with their friends. Away from church I try to live my faith. I try to live a clean, moral life. Though I'm not perfect, I try hard to be better each day.
