Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a wife, new momma, and music teacher. I love children, singing, baking, and being in the mountains. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to a sweet red-headed husband and new mommy to a smiley, blue-eyed baby girl! We love spending time together reading stories, singing songs, and dancing around the house. I am a recent college graduate in choral music education and I love teaching music to kids of all ages! I love to sing, play piano and violin, and compose. I also love baking bread and cookies and have a dream of opening a bakery one day. I enjoy hiking and watching sunsets, rain, snow, and the stars. I love learning about the founding fathers of my country and seeing the hand of God in the creation of the United States, where we are able to live freely and worship the way we choose.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and even as a young child, I knew that the teachings of this church were true. I knew that I had a Heavenly Father and an older brother, Jesus Christ, who loved me and knew me and everyone else on this world personally and perfectly. In my later teen years and through college and being married, I have had some struggles that have given me an opportunity to test my faith in my Heavenly Father and the healing and enabling power of Christ's atonement. At times I have felt extreme stress, anxiety, and depression and I wanted to give up, but as I prayed to my Heavenly Father and read the Book of Mormon, I felt His love and strength, and have been able to accomplish things way beyond what I could have done on my own. One thing I especially love about being a Mormon is the blessings we can recieve in our Temples. Because of temples, families can be together forever. I have been able to be sealed to my parents and siblings, as well as my husband and child for all eternity. I love my husband and family so much and cannot imagine being united in marriage with only a promise of "'til death do you part." Being sealed in the temple is such a comfort because I know that even after we leave this mortal life, we will not only see one another again, but be eternally bound together. I am a Mormon because I have felt Christ's love for me and His Holy Spirit has testified to me that the teachings, principles, and ordinances of this Gospel are true. Living this Gospel has brought so much lasting peace, comfort, and joy to my life, and I cannot imagine my life without my Savior.

How I live my faith

I try to live in a way that those who don't know Jesus Christ will come to know him through my example. I am cheerful and try to love everyone I meet, to not judge others, and to serve those around me. That being said, I'm far from perfect. I am grateful for the atoning sacrifice that Jesus Christ made so that when I make mistakes, I can repent and try again. I live my faith by making simple day-to-day choices to follow Christ's example, and then resolving to be better when I fall short. I also live my faith by reading my scritures, praying, and participating in our weekly church services, where I get to lead the childrens' music time. I love the simple truths found in the primary songs. They help the children to develop their own strong testimonies of their Savior and know that they are children of God.
