Hi I'm Jaclyn

I grew up in Utah. I'm a devoted dancer since age 3. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be an avid dancer! My ultimate career passion is to dance professionally on a modern/contemporary company. I'm currently training to chase that dream at Utah Valley University. My husband is the most amazing person in my life. Meeting him was a dream come true. I'm so grateful for the opportunity I had to wait for him while he served a mission for the church in Florida. That sacrifice has strengthened our relationship more than anything else. He provides for our family while we both attend school, and will be an amazing father when the time comes!

Why I am a Mormon

My family was converted when I was 8 years old. My first memorable experience was going inside the temple to be sealed to my family for time and all eternity. At that time, I felt the Spirit telling me so strongly that something we were doing was right. I cannot deny the confirmations of truth that the Holy Ghost has impressed upon me since. Although part of my family has fallen away completely from the church, I know that God will fix things in the end if I continue to do my best and endure through the tough things in life. This church has helped me learn to stop blaming myself or others for things that go awry in my life and start looking for the real reason I am blessed with trials. With this perspective, I can see that God is testing me in a way he sees fit for me to overcome and grow from. At the same time, He also provides opportunities for me to forget about my heartaches and reach out to others who are struggling. He is the consistent thing in my life that I can always turn to for help, guidance, and comfort no matter what is going on in my life. God's son Jesus Christ is an essential part that led to my complete belief. I have made mistakes and we all do! Because Jesus Christ sacrificed his life so that we can repent and be forgiven, we have nothing to fear. I know that I can be washed clean of all guilt/wrongdoing. Then I can move forward as a better person because of my Savior.

How I live my faith

My husband and I strive to attend all 3 hrs of church every Sunday. We yearn to fulfill our divine potential by reading scriptures, paying tithing, praying together and separately, and looking for opportunities to serve others. These simple tasks have the power to give us extreme happiness and a closer relationship to the community, each other, and our Heavenly Father. I can personally testify of the power of prayer. Whenever I am feeling down, I can pray to my Heavenly Father like a true father. Through our heart to heart discussions I am uplifted. My membership in the church means the world to me. There are so many important life lessons I have learned through my experiences both inside and outside the chapel as a direct result of my belief system. I loved being a teacher to the little children. I discovered that many of the children in the world suffer from a lack of love, so showing them that they can always feel His love was such a blessing. I also have the opportunity to carve a new path in the world of dance as a Mormon. Many people in the dance world are confused at my values. But I hope that I can be a shining example of how we can all use our God-given talents towards a more-righteous cause without demoralizing ourselves.
