Hi I'm Becky

I'm a stay-at-home mom to 3. I have a creative and fun DIY blog I co-founded with some friends. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love music, cooking, and creating. I love talking to people and finding out who they are and the life story they have lived. I have a college degree in Public Relations and dreamed of the day where it would come in handy. Now you will find me networking with companies and other bloggers while I change diapers and sweep the floors. I love being a mother, although it is one of the hardest jobs there is. My children bring me the most joy even when they are scribbling on the walls.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have seen how much peace and joy is in my life. I've seen my friends and others as they struggle to find solid ground in this every changing world. This Church provides that solid ground so I know where I stand and who I am! I am a daughter of God and He loves me. If more women knew how empowering it is to know they are daughters of God they would stop searching for the world to validate them and would turn to the Lord.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping those around me in times of need. Service is a huge part of my life and is a way for me to help strengthen and uplift those around me wether they are members of my church or not. I love to provide moments where I can share my love of my Savior with my children and tell them about Him and all that He did for us. I serve in our wards children's group as the secretary and enjoy working with the children in my neighborhood. I love to remind them that they are Children of God and are so important to Him.

What is being a Mormon like?

Becky
Being a Mormon is just living a good life and trying to love and serve those around us. We are normal people just like you. We try to be happy, kind, considerate of others. We are hard workers and enjoy contributing to society. We love our families and feel that children truly are a blessing from God. Of course we do have some guidelines that not many others may abide by. We have our Word of Wisdom, which is basically a health code, and also guidance to abstain from sex before marriage. I have come to find that all of the things we are asked to do help provide us with a life that is more full of joy and less with the stress and concerns of the world. Everyone has their trials and and we each have our share of hard times and good times. But abstaining from alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs as well as premarital sex, seems to have made my life more liberating instead of restricting. I never had to worry about the negative outcomes from these things because I never did them. I have seen others in my life who have tried these things and it seems like there are just more stresses that come from them. Show more Show less
