Hi I'm Rob

I come from Canada. I love mountains and I love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be in the outdoors, I have a special love for Mountaineering, Backpacking, and Trail Running. I am also a husband, a father of five wonderful kids, scouter, and a singer. As a professional I studied physics and work in semiconductor engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my personal relationship with my Father in Heaven. I have felt his influence throughout my whole life through answers to my prayers, spiritual guidance and in the beauty of the world and the people around me. The Book of Mormon is also key to my being a Mormon. As a young man I struggled to learn how to read. I was the kid in school that took forever just to read a small sentence, struggling and stumbling over every word. I prayed when I was young for help to overcome the difficulty I was having, the answer came to me clearly, "read the Book of Mormon." So I did. It took a long time for me to finish the book the first time, and along the way I was blessed with additional help, but by the time I finished for the first time two things had happened. First, I could read really well, no more stumbling; my prayers had been more than answered. Second, I knew the Book of Mormon came from God and that it carried with it a special and powerful spirit that not only helped me with my reading disability but brought me closer to my Father in Heaven. I promised my Father in Heaven, to be true to the faith I had received, that I would do all he asked of me. I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon comes from a loving Father in Heaven, given to us and consecrated for our day, written by men called of God as prophets who wrote and compiled what was written under the direction of our Father in Heaven. The Book of Mormon is a book that has changed my life.

How I live my faith

As a youth I had a wonderful teacher who patiently guided me and taught me regularly about faith in Jesus Christ. Those lessons are a foundation in my personal faith and beliefs in humanity and myself. These lessons took me to a point where my teacher told me that it was now my turn to be the teacher. I live my faith by doing my best to be a teacher that instills that same faith in Jesus Christ that was instilled in me. Throughout my life I have had the chance to share my faith as a husband, father, teacher and leader in my church. I also have had the chance to share both my faith and my love for the outdoors as a scoutmaster and scout commissioner. Music is also a large part of my faith, you will always find me in the choir. Music speaks to my soul and singing gives me a chance to share my faith in a what that I hop also speaks to others souls and helps elevate us all to God.
