Hi I'm Carina Houseman

I'm a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in Boise, Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four kids, with a sister and then two brothers. I've been into music my whole life. I started with playing the piano, then moved on to playing violin, and then singing in a choir. I also love sports and being active, and played volleyball throughout high school. I just finished my first year of college at BYU, and I want to be a middle school teacher. I'm now serving in the Idaho Boise Mission, and I love being a missionary!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe it is the only true and living church on this earth. I think other churches have parts of the true gospel, but this church has the full truth. Believing in this church means that I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, and that we have modern-day revelation through a prophet who speaks with God today. I also believe that we can each receive personal revelation from a loving Heavenly Father who cares about us. I believe that we are all children of God, and that He wants us to return to live with Him someday, and has given us a way to do that through His son, Jesus Christ. I believe this is possible through His Atonement and Resurrection. That Atonement allows us to repent, or change, and to strive every day to progress and be more like him, and be brought nearer to God.

How I live my faith

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by loving parents who were also raised with the same beliefs. Therefore, this church was pretty much all I knew, and I've always wanted to live by its teachings. Obedience to the commandments has become an important part of living my faith. The Lord said "If ye love me, keep my commandments," and though I'm not even close to mastering that principle, that is my goal. I live my faith by trying as hard as I can to be obedient.
