Hi I'm Alec

I am from Pocatello, Idaho. I am currently serving the Lord in the Great California Ventura Mission. I love skiing a lot.

About Me

Right now I am currently serving a mission in California Ventura mission. I was born in Las Vegas, shortly after my family moved to Sydney Australia till I was about 8 years old. We moved back to Las Vegas, There I was baptized and joined the church with my older sister and my younger brother when I was 9. A year later we moved to Idaho and have been there ever since. I absolutely love anything to do with the outdoors, especially skiing. I am half Japanese on my mom's side. Right now, there is nothing that I love doing more than being able to Preach the Gospel and helping people come closer to Christ, It has changed me more than anyone else and knowing that I am changing people for the better gives me the most happiness that I have ever felt. After my service here I plan on attending College, hopefully somewhere in Utah so I can ski a lot.

Why I am a Mormon

Firstly I was blessed enough to be able to be introduced to the religion at a very young age. Even though I didn't grow up in it completely I had parents that were examples to me and helped me. I am a Mormon simply because I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is from God. Through that I can came to know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that the church he established is Jesus Christ's church restored back onto the Earth. Being a member allows me and helps me live a good life in the service of others, following the example that our savior set for us. I am able to understand more about God's plan for each and every single one of his children which helps me focus on the purpose of life and what my goal is. I have a desire to bless the lives of others, to return to my Heavenly Father again someday, and to have an Eternal Family.

How I live my faith

Most importantly for me is to be an example of what I stand for and believe. To have faith means nothing unless it changes who you are and controls your action. I live my faith by serving the Lord everyday and preaching his gospel. That includes serving all of his children in anyway I can. God's message is one of peace and happiness and so as I feel those in my life, I can know that I am on the right path that heavenly father wants me to be on. That is how I know this Gospel is true. Sharing the Gospel with others is something that I will do for the rest of my life, not just here on my mission because it has changed me forever and I want to help others using what I know to be true. My search for happiness has always brought me back to living the commandments that God has given each one of us, which includes living my faith. I absolutely love the gospel and my savior, Jesus Christ.
