Hi I'm Alyssa

I'm a runner. I'm a dreamer. I'm a goof... I'm a mormon

About Me

To the average eye, I am a short crazy kid that likes to be a goof. Although I pretend to exceed my height, I am only 5'2" and try to make up for it with my quirky humor and wacky smile. Throughout what I like to think were 4 good and character building times of my life (high school), I participated in both soccer and track and found a passion in them right away. I also participated in band and jazz band. Through high school I became what some people would call a music nerd as I worked four years to improve my clarinet and piano skills. Currently, I am an undergraduate student at Brigham Young University in Utah. At BYU, I am pursuing a degree in Exercise Science to put me on the course to becoming a physical therapist. My family consists of 2 brothers and a Mom and Dad, with my position being the middle child. I love to laugh, smile, and crack jokes.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born into the church, (meaning my parents were Mormon), I still believe that I am a Mormon and overjoyed to be a Mormon through my own choice. Why do I believe this? Because true happiness can't come through others. It comes through the decisions you make. Through my life as a Mormon, I have learned to make decisions that have helped me to become happy. Though happy may seem like a short spurt of thrill or joy, the happiness the church brings is different-providing long lasting and true happiness. I also am Mormon because it gives me a sense of purpose and an understanding of who I am. As a mormon I know that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me so very much. Lastly, being a Mormon helps me uphold high standards so I can live up to the best of my ability.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through everyday actions. Isn't that what living is? As a Mormon, I hope to show what I believe in the way I act. This means I don't drink, smoke, gossip, do drugs, or do anything that would hurt my body mentally or physically. It also means that I will strive each day to keep the commandments, be kind to others, and live up to the best of my ability. I also am living through my faith by serving a full-time mission. Because I love the Lord and want to tell the world about Christ and his wonderful connection to our life, I am serving in Brazil for a year and a half so I can give my time and talents to the Lord.
