Hi I'm Kyle Hatch

I grew up in Southern California. I am currently in the Mission Training Center preparing to go to Argentina. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a student at BYU-I, and I am now going to be serving a mission in Argentina. I am the youngest of six boys, and I grew up in Southern California. I like to hang out with my friends and go swimming, and I played water polo in high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I have a testimony of how true it is. I grew up a Mormon, but I didn't always know it was the right thing for me. When I was younger, I went to church and participated because my parents told me. As I grew up and when I was a teenager I went because I had friends and I thought it was good and it was what I knew. But, before I went to my first year of college, I decided to really truly find out for my self if it was true. I read the Book of Mormon, and then I prayed and sincerely asked God if the Book of Mormon, and the church that endorsed it were true. After that, I got such a peaceful warm feeling that I knew was from God.

How I live my faith

I have done different service projects with my youth group, and I have also done service projects with my family. I was in the Boy Scouts and I am an Eagle Scout. For my Eagle Scout project I built an awning for some bleachers at my school.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Kyle Hatch
We do proxy baptisms, so that even those that have died can receive the restored gospel. We do family history research and then find names of people's ancestors, who we are then baptized in behalf of. The wonderful thing is that the people we are baptized for still have the agency to either decline or accept the baptism. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Kyle Hatch
The Book of Mormon is literally another testament of Jesus Christ. Just like the Old and New Testaments, the Book of Mormon testifies of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The major difference between the Bible and Book of Mormon is the location. While the Bible takes place in ancient Israel, the Book of Mormon takes place in ancient America. The culminating event in the book is Jesus Christ's personal ministry to the peoples of ancient America. The Book of Mormon is not meant by any means to replace or contradict the Bible. On the contrary, the book is meant to verify and support the Bible in the claim that Jesus is the Christ, the living Son of God. At the end of the book, there is a promise to all who read it, and with sincerity pray to know that it is true, that they will know by the Spirit of God that it is true. Show more Show less
