Hi I'm Micheal Payne

I grew up mostly in Oregon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to run, more than most people. I ran an ultra marathon in April of 2013 in 12 hours. I also love Frisbee and was the defensive MVP at BYUI amongst the competitive teams. Being active physical is a huge part of my life and what I love most. I also am a computer nerd and know most things about computers, how to fix them and a lot of computer application. When it comes to school, I like classes that involve chemistry and psychology. I love helping others and being part of peoples lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. My family is divided amongst religion, almost each family member being apart of a different sect of Christianity. I have gone to over 6 different churches from the ages 6-12 and didn't believe any of them completely. When I started to really learn about what Later Day Saints really believed in rather than all the myths people spread, everything started to make sense. When I first started to learn about the church I just asked some fellow classmates at my high school about what they believed. Eventually I read the Book of Mormon which is when my Mom and Stepdad found at about my inquires to the church. My parents are both Seventh Day Adventists and were very angry about my questions. However I still continued to look into the church. Eventually I could not deny what I had read because I knew that it was true. Currently I have read the entire standard great works, which are the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price. I am now getting ready to serve as a full time missionary and share to others what I believe and know to be true.

How I live my faith

In my preparation to serve a full time mission I have got out with my wards missionaries to help teach others about the Gospel. I also do work for people in my ward to earn some money to pay for my mission as well as help the family out with some overwhelming yard work. Being close to everyone in the ward is very important to me and has taught me the importance of relationships and why even the smallest thing can be a great help in someone's life.
