Hi I'm Benjamin

I live in Utah. I love running, cooking, making people laugh and spending time with my family. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm currently studying biology and I hope to become a physicians assistant one day. There are many activities I enjoy like learning, teaching, running, playing basketball, acting, cooking and spending time with friends and family. But it is because of the people I do them with that brings me joy and ultimately why I do them. I've found even more important and rewarding then entertaining myself with hobbies and activities is reaching out to others in what ever capacity I can to brighten their day. Doing the small and simply things for others has always been the most meaningful activity of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I gained a witness form God by the Holy Ghost that the church was true when I was about fourteen. I have been a member on the records of the church my whole life and never really doubted what was taught. In time I came to a point where I wanted to find out for myself that what I was committing to was really true. I simply took my question to God in prayer and asked if the Book of Mormon was true and I received an answer. I remember feeling a calming peace followed by great joy, I had never felt like that before. I thought nothing bad could bring such a good feeling. I still feel that same joy and peace as I center my life on Christ and live his gospel. I love Christ, his doctrine and sharing this light and knowledge with others.

How I live my faith

I love teaching and sharing the gospel with anyone who will listen. I have always felt passionate about the gospel and I love inspiring others with that same passion. I love to teach what I know and believe so that others can enjoy the spirit of God and the liberating truths of the Savior's Atonement and resurrection. I believe that if we focus on the small and simply things that God has asked us to do he will take care of the hard challenges that we will come across in our life. For me this takes on the form of daily prayers, scripture study and being an influence for good where ever I go.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is personal confirmation from God to man of spiritual truth. We can this witness from God on any spiritual matter. We can ask God about the truth of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ and his AtonementTestimonies come by the power of the Holy Ghost but not until we act first. We gain a testimony by asking God our question in prayer, studying the topic in our hearts and minds and be willing to receive the answer he gives. Often this means that we will need to change our attitudes and behaviors. Show more Show less
