Hi I'm Jacob Uibel

I have lived in five states across the continental US, now live in Canada, and am preparing to serve a mission in Peru.

About Me

I love being outdoors. Camping, backpacking, rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, water skiing, and snowboarding are some of my favorite activities. I went to high school in Dripping Springs, Texas, where I was part of the marching band. I played the alto saxophone, and loved all four years of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but in order for me to come to the point where I have decided to serve a mission, and stay committed to this church, I have spent a lot of time studying and praying for answers. My conversion to the Gospel has taken a long time, with many small answers to my prayers that are often hard to recognize. Through it all, I know the Savior lives, that He loves me, and wants the best for me. I know that Jesus Christ and God the Father appeared to Joseph Smith to restore the fullness of the Gospel to the Earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true record, and contains the teachings of the Lord's holy prophets. I know all of these things because as I have studied these things, and prayed for answers, the Spirit of God has borne witness unto me that they are true. I know that if we desire answers to our questions, the Lord will answer us, as long as we are willing to wait with an open heart and mind to receive the answers that He will give us.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith now by preparing to serve a full time mission. I recently received my call to serve my two-year mission in Lima, Peru. Until I leave, I will be studying the scriptures and doctrines that I will be teaching, and preparing myself to effectively serve the Lord.
