We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Sarah Griffes

I am a college student, a horse-back rider, a reader, but most importantly, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending college possibly pursuing a degree in Psychology or French. I love to read anything from Harry Potter to The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I horse-back ride and have since I was nine. I enjoy spending time with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to grow up in a family of Latter-day Saints and from a young age, I have had a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I specifically remember a time when I read the Book of Mormon and knelt down and offered a sincere prayer, asking Heavenly Father whether or not it was true. Although questions sometimes arise, I know, with all my heart, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I am so grateful for everything in my life; for the happiness and joy, but also for the trials and challenges. I know that everything that I have is from my loving Heavenly Father. I know that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us infinitely and perfectly. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and that He was resurrected. Because of Christ's atonement, each and every person has the opportunity to repent of their sins and return to live with Heavenly Father again. I am a Mormon because there is nothing in the world that brings more joy, peace, and happiness than living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and growing closer to Heavenly Father; it is the source of true happiness.

How I live my faith

Growing up in a rural area, I was one of the few members of the Church in my community. At school, everyone knew that I was different and often asked me questions about or made observations on my demeanor and choices. I live my faith by doing my best to be my best and share the Light of Christ with others. I do my best to care about each person that I come in contact with and take the time to listen to them. I love having insightful discussions with my friends on Gospel topics and attending the temple with a few of them each week.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Sarah Griffes
We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ by doing little, everyday things like reading the scriptures, praying, attending church, and keeping the commandments. When we do these things, we allow the word of God to have a real place in our lives and hearts; this helps us to increase in faith and conversion. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Sarah Griffes
Each and every day as I look at the world around me, everything that I see speaks to me of Heavenly Father. The beauty of the trees, flowers, grass, fields, and forests speak to me of God and all that He has given to us. The fact that everything in the world functions so wonderfully and perfectly speaks of Him. Each day, I am amazed at the fact that my body functions; that I can breathe, think, move, and feel. Each of these is because of His wonderful creations. Evidence of God and His love is everywhere in the world around us. Show more Show less

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Sarah Griffes
When missionaries visit people, they share messages about Jesus Christ, His Gospel, and His Atonement. They share messages about Heavenly Father and His love for all people. They will also speak of His plan of salvation (or plan of happiness) that gives all people the opportunity to return to live with Him again someday. Show more Show less
