Hi I'm Monique

I was born in Upland, CA! I taught myself how to tie my shoes at age 3, I can whistle quietly, & I love to sing - I'M A MORMON!

About Me

I love spending time with my family! Any kind of activity that involves family - I'm there! (: I'm the oldest of five kids; two brothers, two sisters. I graduated from high school in 2009 and went to college for a semester. I love music; playing the piano, the ukulele, and my personal favorite - singing. Music brings me joy, especially when I sing. I've participated in many talent shows and competitions for fun, and have really come to enjoy the thrill that comes from singing in front of large crowds! I've been asked by many,"Why don't you do something with your music?" And honestly, I haven't thought much about it... but maybe one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but took it for granted as I got older. I am now in my 20's and can see that God has definitely blessed me... I have come to know for myself that this is God's church, not man's. It's so amazing to me that the bishops and leaders and members of this church aren't paid. It's all service. This is all God's work. I love being a member of this church because I KNOW without a doubt that this is His church. I have prayed long and hard and have stayed up many nights praying to know whether this church was true or not, and let me tell you, it is! I believe that with everything I am. I am a Mormon because everything makes sense. I always had thoughts and I always wondered and finally, one day, I decided to stop wondering, and decided to take action. I prayed. I never regret, not once, that I am a Mormon. I love being a Mormon! I love my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that my Heavenly Fathers loves me and all of His children because He sent His Son to die for us... and with that, we can return to live with Him forever with our families. I love being a Mormon and I will never deny that I am. My God has truly blessed me with this truth! I'm a Mormon - John 7:17 -- I put that to the test and I've gained a testimony of Christ and His Gospel!

How I live my faith

I love to serve others! I've done many service projects for the community and elderly people in my area. Once a week, I'd take part in feeding the homeless and the elderly, and provide them with entertainment. We also paint and clean up areas that may be damaged in our community. I have also participated in activities that involved planting flowers at city parks! I live with the motive of helping someone improve or smile or see themselves as children of God. I am always looking for ways I can help someone... there's really nothing like it!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

I was raised in the church, but just like everyone else, I had to come to find answers for myself. You can take someone's word for it, but that'll only get you so far. I knew I had to find my own beliefs, my own testimony. And with that, I prayed to my Heavenly Father. I asked Him if this church was true, if Joseph Smith really restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and if the Book of Mormon was true. I asked Him if this is what He wanted for me, and sure enough, I got my answer. It didn't come that first night I prayed, though. It comes by diligently and sincerely praying and studying the scriptures. It took me a little while before I knew, but I think it was because I needed to put forth the effort and faith to show my Heavenly Father that I was being real about this... that I truly wanted to KNOW. God doesn't hold back anything from us, as long as we're sincere. Show more Show less
