Hi I'm Dan Williams

I live in Montana. I am getting my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies K-8. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I were married in Idaho Falls, ID and now have 2 beautiful children. I am going to school right now to get my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies K-8 but really want to teach between and including, 3rd and 6th grade. I work part time doing pest control for a small business that I have worked for for 8 years. When I am not working, schooling, or my wife not working, we enjoy lazy days at the lake, fishing, camping, barbecueing, and yard work. When we cant make it outside, we enjoy movies, going to movies, barbecueing, and being lazy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was staying with some friends who happened to live on the same bus route as me in high school, my parents were divorced, and one evening the dad came down and told me he wanted me to take the The missionaries arrived with a very familiar presence as if I had known them before. After taking a couple discussions, they had numbered lessons then, they sent me home to put into practice the promise from Moroni in the Book Of Mormon. Pray to know the truth of these words! I went home to a small camper, the kind you would pull to a campsite, with my dad and a heat source of only a propane burner. This was winter and very cold with drafty windows and few blankets. As I lay in bed thinking about the discussions from the evening, I began to pray on my back bundled in a blanket to avoid freezing. The confirmation that came over my body was a very physical experience, I was no longer cold and it was clear that I have been told the truth. The evening of my baptism, I had not brought white under garments because I didn't know they were necessary and had to go back home to get some. This was about 30 minutes or so from start time and I lived 12 miles outside of town on country roads, it takes more than 30 minutes to make that drive in good weather. This was not good weather, roads were snow packed and as I drove home, the thoughts of not going back kept running through my head and I tried so hard to fight them and when I had gotten home realized I could make it. I did. To this day, the physics of how I was able to make a trip about 24 miles round trip through country snowpacked roads still eludes me. I know it was divinely so!

How I live my faith

I have have been a teacher of the youth for several years. We started as 8 years old teacher, then to 17 and 18 years old, back to the nursery (up to 3 years old, I think) with my wife, and finally back with the 8 years old.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Everyone in any calling is called of God to operate the church. We understand this and do not ask for anything in return because we are promised more blessings than can be measured on this Earth. Show more Show less
