Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in New Brunswick, Canada where church members are few and far between, but Hockey rinks are on every corner.

About Me

I was born and raised in the church, and I'm currently serving a 2 year mission for the church. My hobbies include, but are not limited to: Hockey (day and night); volleyball; fishing; piano; and working. I hail from a family of 10 kids, age span is 21 years. I have 3 nephews which really only add to the sibling count.

Why I am a Mormon

I've come to realize that it isn't all peaches and cream when you grow up in this Gospel. You often take advantage and don't fully appreciate it. The worst part is that you think you're fine just because you go to church every week. That's not the case though. Everyone gets to a point in their life when they question things that they are doing. That is what I did. I didn't know why I was giving so much of my life to a church that I didn't even know was true, nor if it would truly bless my life. So I decided to do what every missionary invites people to do, to pray in Faith to our Father in Heaven to know if the Book of Mormon is true. Since it is the keystone of this religion, everything would be set in place if it turns out true. And the witness that was borne to me of it's validity, by the power of the Holy Ghost, is something that I will never be able to deny, and must share with everyone. I know this Gospel, and the Church of which it constitutes, is truly the Kingdom of God once again established on the Earth. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He Atoned for our sins so that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I currently live my faith by sharing it with everyone I see. (That's mostly because I'm currently serving a mission in upstate New York, but it's also due in part to the fact that the Gospel has really had a tremendous influence on my life and I desire to share that.) I'm always striving to be a disciple of Jesus, but sometimes I fall short and have to start over again. But that's what this life is about.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons help anyone in need of help, and often seek for opportunities to do so. Show more Show less
